In addition, it is essential that all goods are adequately packed.
* A claim will not be eligible for any consignment that is deemed in our reasonable opinion to have been inadequately packed or prepared for transport:
– These may include unpalletised large or bulky items including car parts, large flat packs, heavy lengths, industrial goods, bulky household or electrical goods.
Products such as these must be palletised, strapped down and shrink wrapped.
Very large items must be crated for adequate protection.
– These also may include items which are cartonised yet are deemed in our reasonable opinion to have inadequate insulation or void fill inside to be able to protect the contents as well as cartons which are cannot be stacked or the packaging is too flimsy to be stack able.
Cartons and carton packaging must be strong enough to be stacked with other cartons.
Surfboards and the like need to have cardboard insulation for adequate protection.
Note:
Packaging your goods appropriately for safe transport is shipper's most important responsibility. When packaging your goods, please ensure the packaging is strong enough to cope with the weight and density of the goods you are placing inside. It also needs to be robust enough to handle the rigours of normal freight distribution systems. Use void fills if the goods move around inside and as much packing tape as possible to make the packaging strong and sturdy. On the carton, apply the packing tape around every side and also along the seams. This will assist in preventing the carton from splitting open whilst in transit.
If the box not packed in full and shipper did not fill the empty spaces with void fill then the box will collapse.
Insurance will be your sole responsibility. Insurance will not be arranged by us. We will be under no liability whatsoever for the adequacy of the insurance or your failure to arrange insurance.
